They have been depicted in a variety of sculpts and paintings and to me are the embodiment of true freedom - not broken to the will of others and not bound to four walls, a roof and floor.
Sculpts of mustangs have been released to the model horse hobby by talented artists like Yvonne Nixon, Morgen Kilbourn, Sheila Anderson and Sue Sifton. It has been discussed on the Resins By Randy Yahoo group of Kitty Cantrell's latest duo that are in the works - a pair of dueling mustang stallions. Although I do not have images to share, I am anxious to get a pair to put my painting touches to help Deb Buckler see another vision of hers come to fruition - helping mustang rescues.
While others may love the perfectly groomed horse, my focus has come to focus on wild horse sculpts and I do hope that when the Cantrell pieces become available that I will be offering to paint copies with part of the proceeds going to the mustang rescues. If you might be interested in a painted set, please use the Contact Me form. The sculpts are still in process and are classic scale. I already know I want a set! Stay tuned for more as the story develops.
Colleen McNamarra reported that her custom painted Wee Wyakin "Cattywampus" placed third at a recent live show.
The next big batch of horses are in various stages of prep while a few more shipped out. Deb Buckler's HA Drafter was sent home and a trio of pieces for Brenda Bednar arrived safely. I also received a customized Heartbreaker done on request from Julie Brooks. She created just the vision I had in mind and I cannot wait to lay color on this little guy as well as the duo of playing foals she sent a few weeks back.
That's all for this week!
